Meet Kayla

Kayla is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 10 years experience in the field of ABA. Kayla earned her Master’s degree in Neuroscience and Education from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. Prior to earning her BCBA certification, Kayla spent several years as a behavioral instructor working with families in home, school, community and center-based settings. As she fell deeper in love with ABA, learning and skill acquisition, she furthered her education and became involved with several research studies at Yale University Child Study Center aimed at understanding the neural mechanisms of autism and other neurodevelopmental diagnoses. Drawing upon both her clinical and research experiences , she developed Nurny to provide a higher standard of care for families.

At home she lives with her husband, daughter, sister and their dog. She loves hiking, listening to music, playing video games and taking care of her plants.

My Approach

Using positive behavior strategies to effect meaningful and lasting change.

Positive Behavioral Supports

You can rest assured that behavioral support will be conducted in a positive and child-led manner. Neurodiversity is respected and celebrated. If behavioral support is required, strategies used honor the preferences and strengths of the child as an individual.

Fundamentals of Applied Behavior Analysis

As your nanny works with your child to practice skills, simple reinforcement strategies and basic behavioral techniques will be used to shape behaviors.
