The Story Behind Nurny
As a veteran behavioral instructor, Kayla noticed that many families were sacrificing careers, personal goals, self-care and time to ensure that their children received appropriate quantities of in-home therapy. Furthermore, families who were able to find substitute care found themselves struggling to find quality care providers who not only understood the needs of their child, but would also follow through with teaching procedures families were using to increase their child’s communication, social and behavioral repertoires. In an effort to remedy these two dilemmas, the thought of a “nurturing nanny” or Nurny was born.
Who we are
“With Nurny, your child will receive nurturing and compassionate childcare with education and independence in mind.”
Here at Nurny, our staff is comprised of a fleet of nurturing nannies who work with your child to encourage and strengthen positive skills necessary for your child to thrive. In collaboration with your family and your therapy team, your nanny will ensure that the skills your child works on in therapy is practiced even when therapists and family are away.
The Nurny Journey
Our care providers all have at least 6 months experience in a therapeutic, school, home or community setting, and go through rigorous background checks. All staff are familiar with positive behavior supports to firmly and compassionately respond to challenging behaviors if needed. They can also assist with the maintenance and generalization of skills learned so that they become a natural part of your child’s repertoire.
What sets us apart
We provide conscious childcare aimed at increasing your child’s developmental skills. We use positive behavior supports to shape independence across developmental domains or when responding to challenging behavior.
